About:

Augustine’s work explores how landscapes absorb time, memory, and traces of passage. Through layered material processes, she engages with marks and impressions - both visible and invisible - responding to shifting conditions rather than depicting something fixed. Growing up between Southern California and Arizona, she was drawn to vast, arid landscapes - places where history lingers in the land, shaped by erosion, light, and surface shifts. These early impressions continue to inform her approach, where paint accumulates and erodes like sediment, mirroring how landscapes hold and transform time.
